What Information does the Index of Information Systems Journals Collect?
The Index of Information Systems Journals does not collect any personal information about you (such as your name or email address) except when you specifically and knowingly provide that information. A record is kept of the IP addresses from which users access the Index. This data is used for internal administration, and to analyse the way in which people use the Index, so that the services offerred can be continuously improved. This data also supplies anonymous and broad demographic information about those using the Index.
Does the Index of Information Systems Journals disclose information to anyone else?
Usage data may be used in academic papers. However, only aggregate, anonymous information about users will be disclosed and any personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to any third party without that person's express consent.
For example, the total number of "hits" the Index receives may be disclosed, or which terms are most often entered in the search engine. Please be aware, however, that specific personal information about you will be released if required by law.
John Lamp receives and replies to email from users regarding the Index on a regular basis. For record-keeping purposes he retains copies of all incoming and outgoing email. Information in the emails received or sent will not be disclosed to any third party without the permission of the sender, either express or implied, unless required by law.
